WE THINK GLOBAL, WE ACT LOCAL
''as a catalyst for appropriate development in Africa's most marginalized communities''
Appropriate Development
We support the empowerment of marginalized communities throughout the world to meet their basic human needs, to have an influential voice in controlling what is appropriate for them, and to have a tangible hope of a better life for the next generation.
Furthermore, we support the broader view of appropriate development such as a safe and biodiverse-rich environment, close social and family structures, hope for a better quality of life for the next generation, and close connection and alignment with the Creator.
CHAKULA BORA DIGITAL NETWORK
The Chakula Bora Digital Network is part of our strategy to promote food sovereignty in Africa.
Our mission is to create a digital platform for stakeholders in the agriculture space to network, engage and share ideas, knowledge and information on regenerative agriculture.

We are looking to bring farmers together to discuss their issues regarding best practices around farming. The challenges farmers face are finite and universal.
KILIMO BUNIFU
Much of our work to combat poverty and its effects falls under our Kilimo Bunifu Agenda. Kilimo Bunifu is Swahili for "Innovative Agriculture". Addressing the challenges of agricultural productivity through rural small-holder farmers not only lifts them up but also lifts the whole nation. The agenda was set in 2021 and has been our charter since. It is grounded in the triple bottom line metrics of Planet + People = Productivity.

Every two years, we conduct a Kilimo Bunifu Workshop as part of the bi-annual International Conference on Appropriate Technology. This hybrid conference looks closely at the challenges of food security and food sovereignty in Africa bringing together academics, practitioners, farmers, and policy influencers in agriculture.
CHAKULA BORA SPEAKER SERIES
The major objective of the Chakula Bora Speaker Series is to create a forum for policy discussions on triple P (People, Planet, Productivity) based solutions for Food Security and Sovereignty in Africa. The conversations bring together agricultural students and extensionists, the academia, environmentalists, farmers, herders, NGOs, Researchers, Value addition players and policy makers.
