Kamser Seka Impact
Kamser Seka CBO employs a multifaceted approach to tackle these challenges and harness opportunities:
Agriculture Initiative
So far, we have 50 widows taking part in this project. It has benefitted them and their children by
enabling them to provide for themselves. We aim to target another 100 widows as well as youth
in the future. Desired outcomes include:
-
Adoption of eco-friendly farming methods such as crop rotation, organic fertilization, and water conservation techniques.
-
ï‚·Implementation of practices that enhance soil health and biodiversity, ensuring long-term productivity and environmental sustainability.
-
ï‚·Increase food security among the widows and youth in the community by improving access to nutritious food through increased agricultural productivity.
-
ï‚·Reduced dependency on external food sources, leading to greater self-sufficiency and resilience to food shortages.
The Empower Her Table Banking Initiative
This project began in 2021 and is currently being done by 100 widows divided in 3 groups.
There are plans underway to create more groups and add more widows to the program. Desired
outcomes include:
-
Enhanced economic empowerment of the widows
-
Improved financial literacy and management skills among widowsï‚·
-
Providing access to small loans for income-generating activitiesï‚·
-
Empowering individuals, particularly those in underserved or marginalized communities, by providing them with access to financial services and opportunities for economic growth
-
Financial Inclusion by bringing individuals who are excluded from the formal banking sector into the financial system.
-
Poverty alleviation by providing members with the means to save, invest, and access credit for income-generating activities. This can lead to improved livelihoods and standards of living for individuals and their families.
-
Table banking enables aspiring entrepreneurs to start or expand their businesses. This can stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the development of local economies.
Biogas Production
Subsequent plans for this project include:
-
Implementing agricultural projects such as beekeeping and poultry farming to create sustainable income sources.
-
ï‚·Providing clean water and sanitation facilities to reduce disease.
-
ï‚·Conducting health awareness campaigns and facilitating access to medical care.
-
ï‚·Offering educational support and scholarships to orphans and vulnerable children.
-
ï‚·Providing vocational training in trades such as carpentry, tailoring, and farming.
