NFI's briquettes also help farmers' yields: when briquette ashes are mixed with human urine, manure, and loaded biochar, crop yields increase by about 150% (p ≤ 0.05) compared to local practice on soil without biochar (60.4%).
Producing these organic fertilizers and pesticides locally cuts input costs and reduces dependence on imported chemical fertilizers — while keeping the whole value chain in the community.
